From 1st July you will be able to book an appointment to be seen by an Emergency Healthcare Practitioner or Healthcare Assistant on Saturday and Sunday at the Extended Hours Clinic at Bishop Auckland General Hospital. These clinics are run by the Durham Dales Health Federation and need to be booked by phoning our receptionists.

Care Navigation - New ways for your local GP practice to help you get to the right support. The Receptionist may ask you a few questions to help navigate you to the best person, they wont try to diagnose your problem but you may need to tell them a little bit about why you are calling

Sharing of Information

Your Electronic Patient Record and the Sharing of Information

Today, electronic records are kept in all the places where you receive healthcare.  These places can usually only share information from your records by letter, email, fax or phone.  At times this can slow down your treatment and mean information is hard to access.

We use a unique computer system called SystmOne that allows the sharing of full electronic records across different healthcare care services.

For example a District Nurse that visits would be able to see data entered by your GP.

The Practice Policy is that all patients records are set at agreeing to sharing data.

If you choose not to share your electronic record with other care services please speak to a member of staff and the setting will be amended on your electronic record, you can also change your sharing preferences at any time
